Paul Naylor has been a fan of Star Wars since first seeing it on a cold February evening in Wellington, Shropshire back in 1978.
That defining moment saw him dedicate any pocket money towards merchandise from that galaxy far, far away. He collected the blue series of Topps trading cards and read Star Wars Weekly, but his greatest passion was the Palitoy and Kenner action figures. To this day he regrets selling off his Palitoy Death Star playset and vinyl cape Jawa.
As was the case with many, he reconnected with the saga in the early 1990s with the release of Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn trilogy. He can’t imagine the franchise ever going away again.
Previously a contributor for Jedi News, Paul is a former journalist, having worked for the Shropshire Star and Express & Star newspapers for 25 years. He left the industry at the beginning of 2017 and launched Media & You, a design agency focusing on business products and recipe books for Michelin starred chefs.
