It’s THE seaside location from the Star Wars galaxy, a hideout for Cassian Andor and in the real world a location many UK fans are easily able to visit. This is the latest Star Wars Meet-Up at Niamos / Cleveleys, taking place on 25th August and bringing the galaxy far, far away to the north-west coast.

STAR WARS MEET-UP TO RETURN TO CLEVELEYS, LANCASHIRE

Cleveleys, Lancashire – 25th August 2024 – Star Wars fans, mark your calendars! The highly anticipated Star Wars Meet-Up returns to Cleveleys on August 25th, 2024. This free, unoffcial fan event promises to be a day full of excitement, camaraderie, and all things Star Wars, set against the backdrop of one of the filming locations for the critically acclaimed 2022 series, ‘Andor’.

The Star Wars Meet-Up was conceived by long-time fans Jessica Monger and Neil Trickett following their disappointing experiences at the official Star Wars Celebration in London in 2023. Monger and Trickett envisioned a more personal gathering that could bring the Star Wars community closer together. What began as a casual meet-up for owners of customisable droids from Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge attractions quickly evolved into a broader celebration of the Star Wars universe.

The inaugural event, held in June 2023, faced an afternoon rainstorm but was nonetheless a resounding success. Attendees included professional and hobbyist cosplayers, swag swappers, holiday-makers, and curious locals. The highlight of the day was the surprise appearance of Hazel Lyth and Yahya Baggash, extras from ‘Andor’, who were warmly embraced by the fans as Star Wars royalty.

Building on the success of the first meet-up, the second event took place in November 2023, coinciding with the Star Wars in-universe holiday, ‘Life Day’. This celebration featured a bustling market in The Venue’s function room, offering art prints, replica lightsabers, sculptures, and confectionery. The event also included a shooting range and a Star Wars-themed quiz, while cosplayers roamed the Promenade, enchanting both locals and tourists alike.

This August, the Star Wars Meet-Up aims to surpass previous events with even more attractions and surprises. Whether you are a die-hard fan or a casual admirer of the galaxy far, far away, this meet-up is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the Star Wars universe and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

Join us on August 25th, 2024, in Cleveleys, Lancashire, for a Star Wars celebration you won’t want to miss.

May the Force be with you!
