Jamie Benning over at Filmumentaries has posted this fascinating flashback to days gone by as legendary newsman Walter Cronkite visits ILM during the production of The Empire Strikes Back. Fascinating, that Empire is almost as far back in our past as the Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials of the 30’s were when Empire was in production. As huge a leap as the original trilogy was, the zero gravity leaps taken since would be beyond the comprehension of practically anyone working in the industry from the 30’s to the late 70’s.
