By way of remembering the wonderful Olivia Newton John, who passed away earlier this week, a scene from the 1977 Bob Hope Christmas Special, starring Olivia as Princess Hialeah and guesting Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker while they battle Bob Hope as the evil Barf Vader, who has kidnapped Santa Claus.

The Bob Hope All Star Christmas Comedy Special. December 19, 1977.

Bob Hope is “Barf Vader” the meanest cat in the universe and Perry Como is Luke Sleepwalker aided by Princess Hialeah (Olivia Newton-John) as they capture Barf who has kidnapped Santa Claus. Real Star Wars star Mark Hamill comes to make them stop the parody.

Remember, this is before the arrival of Grease, which sent Olivia into the global stratosphere, and the first Christmas after the release of Star Wars when it was already the biggest thing in the galaxy.
