Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren (2026) #2

THE FALL OF FREEDOM

PART 2: TAVA REN

Supreme Leader Kylo Ren has returned to the First Order after surviving a dark gauntlet on Mustafar, only to find a fissure in his ranks. Kylo  resolved the tension by elevating Enric Pryde to the rank of Allegiant  General, much to General Hux’s dismay. Dangers from within may appear mended for now, but new threats to Kylo’s conquest lie ahead….

Kylo Ren continues to find his line from 2017’s film Star Wars: The Last Jedi, hard to enact: “Let the past die. Kill it if you have to.” His past is complicated and unwieldy, and a new element is introduced in The Fall of Kylo Ren #2 – Part 2: Tava Ren.

Who is Tava Ren? She is a Knight of Ren who at times wields a red lightsaber and a horned mask. The other Knights of Ren listen to her. And Kylo Ren apparently kissed her at least once—in his past. What the mini-series continues to hint at is that the past he wants to kill appears to be attempting to undo him at the same time.

Kylo Ren sees his future as The First Order and his control of the galaxy. And in his unshared thoughts, the role Rey plays in it. But back to Tava and the Knights of Ren. They are desperate and see Kylo Ren as their final opportunity for self-preservation. Upon surprising him, and General Pryde, aboard the First Order flagship Steadfast, Tava presents a gift—a peace offering—to the Supreme Leader. It is powerful and Kylo Ren tests it before “welcoming” Tava and the six other Knights as his guests.

The double-cross ensues with a hull breach alarm, the Knights of Ren attempting to escape, and a bulky yet wiry cortosis armored droid—calling out a chain of seemingly unrelated words—targeting Kylo Ren. He stops the droid and then the Knight’s Night Buzzard starship while attempting to flee.

He asks Tava, “What is this?”

She responds, “Just the beginning,” before the cutaway to a similar droid somewhere else, accessing the visuals of the droid Kylo Ren beheaded.

Kylo Ren’s past is creating yet another beginning.
