More details on the rumoured LEGO Star Wars UCS R2-D2 75308 arrive

The new UCS R2-D2 75308 is set to include some incredible extras that will harken back to 1983 and Return of the Jedi, two years ahead of that films 40th anniversary. Rumours have the set including the circular saw, extendable periscope and most excitedly Luke’s lightsaber that will eject from the dome.

Promobricks reports that the accompanying UCS plaque will include a ’50 Years of Lucasfilm’ tile, though it’s not clear whether it will be printed or a sticker at the moment. We’ll find out for sure when the LEGO Group finally officially announces 75308 R2-D2, which is rumoured to retail for $199.99 and contain 2,314 pieces. If it launches on May 4 as expected, we should hear something very soon.
