I read this post from the Imperial Scottish Garrison first thing this morning, which reminded me that the show was taking place this weekend, so I got packed, sorted my gear and drove across to Glasgow for Sundays running of the show.
Join us as Film & Comic Con Glasgow returns on the 22nd & 23rd July 2023 for a fun weekend where you can browse the many trader stalls, get those hard to find items, geek out and enjoy the cosplay, a must for all fans of pop culture!
That’s the official blurb which welcomes visitors to the Film & Comic Con Glasgow website, and as I arrived at the Braehead Arena off junction 26 of the M8 I quickly realised that’s exactly what I’d be seeing during my visit today. With two guests from the Star Wars galaxy attending the show – Rusty Goffe and Femi Taylor – as well as the Rebel Legion and the Imperial Scottish Garrison, I knew there’d be plenty to keep me busy. Sadly, Femi was a Saturday only guest, but no problem, there was still plenty to see and do.
The foreground of the first picture was where the talent signed. All that spare space and it’s still a tight squeeze walking around peoples tables buying stuff, but we managed.

As a devoted fan of Lost I couldn’t pass up the chance to catch up with Henry Ian Cusick for a photoshoot, a chat and to crack open a bottle of MacCutcheon (Macallan 60yo) with Desmond Hume. The bottle was 12-years-old in 2014, and Henry asked if I was sure I wanted to open it with him. Aye!
After my brief trip to the hatch I made sure to swing by the tables of the Rebel Legion and the Imperial Scottish Garrison, and just my luck I missed them both as they were out trooping the halls.
SM-Artworks were also at the show, bringing a wide range of pieces from across the entire Star Wars story.

Artist Chris Owen was also at the show. He’s recently done some card sets for Topps and is currently doing The Mandalorian Season 3 for them.
It was a great day, and I’ll leave it to the Imperial Scottish Garrison to sign off for now.
