Issue 227 of Star Wars Insider arrives 27th August in the US and 26th September in the UK, and inside are features on Ezra Bridger and Captain Rex, new fiction by Alyssa Wong, interviews with Amandla Stenberg and Manny Jacinto talking The Acolyte and a tour of the shop at Pinewood Studios where myself and Insider editor Chris Cooper spent a day with Neal Scanlan, Lee Towersey and the creature shop team to get the inside scoop on the story so far as well as a look behind the scenes of The Acolyte.

For this issue of Insider we take an in-depth look at the science behind blue as a food color in the galaxy far, far away and closer to home. With recipes!

Star Wars: The Acolyte set out to explore the dark side from a much less whimsical perspective and this issue we speak to Amandla Stenberg and Manny Jacinto about their roles in the hit Disney+ series. We also take a tour of Lucasfilm’s Creature Shop at Pinewood Studios with creature special effects designer Neal Scanlan, who is on a mission to train young apprentices of his own at the state of the art facility.

Along with exploring the heroic exploits Ezra Bridger and Captain Rex, we look at how some of the oldest planets from the saga have expanded in the current era of Star Wars storytelling. We also welcome a special guest writer to our ongoing series of The High Republic short fiction – award-winning Author Alyssa Wong.
