Last week Fantha Tracks had the great fortune to meet the cast of Skeleton Crew on Trafalgar Square, and later chat with the actor behind the voice of droid SM-33, Nick Frost to discuss his role in the show, his thoughts on the character and more.

Actor, comedian, and screenwriter Nick Frost chats with Fantha Tracks’ Mark Newbold about his new role as “SM-33,” or “Thirty-Three” for short, in the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars show, ‘Skeleton Crew.’

SM-33 is a unique droid, pirate, and first mate of the ship the Onyx Cinder. Buried in a forest, the Onyx Cinder is discovered by the four protagonist children in ‘Skeleton Crew.’ This rusty, old, one-legged droid houses a creature living in its broken photoreceptor, setting it apart from other droids in the franchise.

Nick Frost is a renowned UK actor, best known for his work in the “Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy,” including comedy films like Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and World’s End. He also collaborated with fellow Star Wars alum Simon Pegg on the film Paul and appeared alongside John Boyega in Attack the Block.

‘Skeleton Crew’ is the latest Star Wars television series created for Disney+. Led by showrunners Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, the series follows a coming-of-age story about four children who make a startling discovery on their home planet, get lost in the galaxy, and embark on an adventure to return home.

The cast includes Jude Law alongside the four children played by Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith.
