Our pal Ricky Resurreccion (aka TK-74259, Golden Gate Garrison) was invited to the Presidio for a fan screening of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy – Pieces of the Past and reported back with his review of another great Star Wars day.

On Friday, September 19th, fans descended on the Presidio in San Francisco, home of Lucasfilm, for a very special screening of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy – Pieces of the Past. For a Star Wars nerd, it was the perfect way to close out the week, turning what had been an ordinary Friday into something unforgettable.

The vibe throughout the Presidio was nothing short of magical. What truly warmed my heart was seeing so many families with their kids in attendance, all sharing in the fun together. Before the screening, Lucasfilm spoiled us with sumptuous snacks, and first-timers delighted in the chance to explore, enjoying the displayed memorabilia and relics, and of course taking plenty of photos. It honestly felt like we were gathered in a spaceport cantina, sharing food and a shared sense of excitement for what was to come. Then, when it was time to head into the theater, our own Docking Bay 94, as we blasted off on a communal adventure that brought us all deeper into the galaxy we love.

The screening itself was an absolute blast. Packed with cameos, callbacks, and deep-cut references, it made me appreciate once again the sheer vastness of the galaxy we all love. LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy – Pieces of the Past — currently receiving rave reviews, having debuted with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes (you can also check out FanthaTracks’ review here) — delivered on every level. The cast voices brought the adventure to life in spectacular fashion, and the crowd responded in kind, with hearty laughter and applause throughout, and audible gasps when Easter eggs appeared. I haven’t enjoyed Star Wars content this much in quite a while.

Guests knew beforehand, through the email invitation, that Gaten Matarazzo, beloved as Dustin in Stranger Things and here voicing the lead character Sig in the LEGO Star Wars show, would be present. What none of us expected, however, was that he would be joined by Ashley Eckstein, the inimitable voice of Ahsoka Tano, and Cameron Monaghan, Cal Kestis himself. Together, the three voice actors took the stage with the always-awesome Kristin Baver for a lively post-screening Q&A session that had the crowd buzzing.

As an AFOL myself, it was also a special treat to spot familiar “brick masters” from one of my favorite shows, LEGO Masters. It felt like the two fandoms I love most were colliding in the best possible way.

And just when we thought the night couldn’t get better, the raffle prizes took things over the top. Many lucky fans, myself included, went home with LEGO sets, the final brick in building an already amazing evening.

This wasn’t just a screening; it was a celebration of fandom, creativity, and community. Immense thanks to the Lucasfilm team for treating their fans so thoughtfully and generously. It’s nights like this that remind me why being part of the Star Wars family is such a gift.
