Richard Donat, the voice of the ewok Deej, has passed away

Sad news as the voice of Wickets father Deej Warwick in the mid 80’s Ewoks animated series has passed away. Actor Richard Donat passed on 28th March and was 86, a member of the Donat acting dynasty that included brother Peter (Fox Mulders father in The X-Files) and uncle Robert Donat, star of the classic 1935 film The 39 Steps.

His death marks the end of his decades-long career across hit shows and sci-fi favourites.

Richard provided the voice for Deej Warrick, the resilient father of Wicket, in the animated series.

The tragic loss comes just eight years after the death of his brother, Peter Donat, who famously played Fox Mulder’s father in The X-Files.

The acting legacy runs even deeper, with the pair also nephews of legendary star Robert Donat, best known for The 39 Steps.
