In a fun article looking at Anthony Daniels’ (C-3PO) appearance at Calgary Expo the Calgary Herald give us some great stories throughout Daniels Star Wars career.

They include a funny memory with Carrie Fisher:

After the first Star Wars film in 1977, actress Carrie Fisher took Daniels to an African restaurant on Hollywood Boulevard. The manager came out and told Fisher that he loved the movie … for the most part. Everything but those two droids. “I think Carrie doubled her tip, because she was so amused.”

And the kindness of Sir Alec Guinness to the then young actor:

Daniels does a pretty good impression of Alec Guinness, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi. He rode with Guinness in a charter flight to the set while filming Star Wars in 1976. Guinness took a limo to the set; Daniels and the rest of the cast took a bus. But they obviously bonded. Guinness even offered to give the younger actor part of his per diem. “I had never been in a film and didn’t know what a per diem was,” Daniels said. “He said, ‘Your pocket money. Because they seemed to have given me rather a lot and I think you should have some.’I said, ‘Very well then.’How can you not love that?’
