Make of this what you will. Nick Acosta has very cleverly replaced the face of Alden Ehrenreich with that of a young Harrison Ford to create what he calls True Solo.

Solo: A Star Wars story opens May 25th. Whenever you recast an iconic character like Han Solo there will be controversy. Watching the trailer featuring new actor Alden Ehrenreich in the titular role it’s hard to get used to. By all accounts Alden seems like great actor and good guy. But I couldn’t help wonder what would this movie would look like if you could magically transport a young Harrison Ford to play his iconic character. So using a variety of digital compositing software and some editing tricks I tried to make that happen.

‘True Solo’ utilizes clips of Harrison Ford before he acted in the original Star Wars. I farmed movies, tv episodes and even still photographs that I graphed onto Alden Ehrenreich’s Face and animated. Notable clips are from his early roles in American Graffiti, The Conversation, and a very bizarre appearance on the 60’s sitcom Love American Style.”

Clever stuff, but we’re all in for Alden as the face of a young Han Solo – only 5 short days to go until he is unleashed upon the galaxy.
