You might be forgiven for wondering what on earth a show with a title like that has to do with Star Wars, but stick with us as there’s a very definite connection. Freakshow Boogaloo is on it’s way for the next 2 weekends, and there’s some very cool Star Wars content on show.
Iksentrik will have several Star Wars related pieces on display including the epic Jakku Games Board. Built as a summer project to help teach his sons more about the craft of making sets for Film and TV, they decided to make a 3D gaming board for the X-Wing Miniatures Game by Fantasy Flight Games. From start to finish they were involved in all aspects of construction from the building of the flats, foam carving right up to the final painting and detail work. As well as Jakku, there will be Death Troopers galore, including Zombie Stormtroopers, Venom Trooper and Life size Zombie First order Trooper.

Frome Open Studios – A brief history
Frome Open Studios started in 2007 and has grown in size and popularity to become a staple event which takes place during Frome Festival. Some of our artists also open up their outdoor galleries for the Hidden Gardens trail – an added bonus. We produce a brochure each year which is available in print and online (here!) to help you find your way to all our venues and artists.
We are proud to be part of the local community and collaborate with other local creative organisations in Frome including Black Swan Arts, Frome Festival, Frome FM and many other local businesses.
We are entirely volunteer-driven, just local artists and makers who love their town. We’re grateful to everyone who has been a part of the Frome Open Studios story, including; Steven Jenkins, Helen Langford, Annie Colgan, Stina Harris, Gill Chambers, Samantha West, David Kemp, Paul Newman and last but not least Caroline Walsh-Waring who coordinated the event for 7 years until she had finally had enough and wished to get on with her own artwork!
We also thank our many participants and volunteers who are essential to spreading the word on social media, stocking or distributing brochures, putting up our posters etc.
We hope you and all the visitors enjoy the event as much as we do creating and participating in it.
