There’s no doubt Grand Moff Tarkin could have done with a few of these back in 0BBY. As Luke Skywalker tore down the trench, on his way to igniting Galen Erso’s fuse with photon torpedoes and destroying the Death Star, a hangar full of these might – at a very reasonable $99.00 – have changed the result.
Another successful Death Star detonation whose explosion saves the galaxy! Or at least your house. Fire extinguisher balls, spheres you can roll or chuck at almost any type of flame, are nothing new, but Fireball maker Auto Fire Guard has taken the tossable firefighters a delightful (and obvious – what took so long?!) step further with their Death Star decorated Fireball.
The Fireball automatically explodes when it comes in contact with fire, unleashing a cloud of 90 – 94% pure ABC Dry Chemical Powder that removes the toxic carbon and hydrogen the fire creates. The powder itself is US-certified to be non-toxic and eco-friendly, as well as easy to vacuum up and/or sweep away after dispersal.
The Death Star Fireball is 6″ in diameter and weighs just under 3 pounds, so anyone should be able to transfer it from hand to flame with Skywalker levels of precision. You can also permanently place or mount The Fireball in susceptible locations, such as the kitchen, next to the dryer, over the electrical breaker box, or even in your car, and it will burst within 2 to 5 seconds of fire contact. The ball’s flame-neutralizing powder has a spread of about 905 cubic feet.
The Death Star Fireball is certainly one of the most offbeat Star Wars gifts I’ve seen in awhile, but if the galactic franchise isn’t your thing, you can still stay Fireball prepared for a fire emergency in a number of other clever, even decorative ways.
