Slovakia’s UEFA Youth EURO 2022, which involved players aged under 19, has come to an end. The English team took the gold. In the final, England beat Israel, the tournament’s biggest sensation.
Stars of Israel’s youth national team
They are Oscar Gloach of Maccabi, captain-back Eli Madmon of Hapoel (Beer Sheva) and winger Ty Abed of Dutch PSV. The latter is younger than the others and is the only international in the national team.
Gloch and Madmon – the most expensive Israeli players, the site Transfermarkt values them at € 500 thousand and € 400 thousand respectively. By the way, Oscar has already scored three goals in 10 games for Maccabi”.
Gloch was the top scorer at the European Championship, hitting the gates of Serbia and Austria, before the match for the gold. Vulkan MMA continues to support young athletes and accept bets on both football and live basketball betting.
Israel were better than England in the final
The Israeli team continued to surprise in the final. Chaim’s team possessed the ball more than 60% of the time and the game advantage, boldly going under pressure. The English, on the other hand, were cautious. The three centre-backs scheme didn’t work well and the first half ended with a 7-1 advantage for the Israelis in shots (2-1 on goal).
Abed had three quite dangerous chances, but Gloch scored again
And a stunning goal. The team managed a quick three-on-three attack. Oskar received the ball, with two touches and sharp movements, took away two defenders of the England team, and then accurately shot.
After the break, England head coach Ian Foster restructured the team, raising the lines. It became harder for the Israelis to get out of defence under pressure, and in the 52nd minute they conceded after a feed into the penalty area and a lost tackle. The defenders failed to act positively, allowing Manchester City’s Callum Doyle a free-kick on goal by Tomer Tsarfati.
Unique player will play at the Euros
With the score at 1-1, the English also attacked more dangerously, helped in part by their strong bench. Israel’s reserves were not as deep. Although Chaim’s team kept pushing forward at every opportunity, their opponents had their best chance.
Chukwuemeka flew into the penalty area and shot on target. Lucky for Israel. In the second half, they were also 6-7 (2-3) down in shots.
Game went into extra time
There the Israelis were at least as good, but in the 108th minute they let a cross from the right flank pass, after which Chukwuemeka still scored. The episode was questionable because of a possible offside and a touch on the ball, only there was no VAR system at the tournament – the Portuguese referee António Nobre made the England goal count.
Then Gloach blighted a good chance with the score at 1-2. In the 116th minute, Liam Delap (son of Rory Delap) and Aaron Ramsey scored for the Israelis.
