It’s been a while since we’ve caught up Professor Henry Jones Jr., and his 5th big screen adventure is still a couple of years away, but before then Indiana Jones is coming back via Lucasfilm Games, MachineGames and Bethesda Games Studios.

Bringing us a ‘wholly original, standalone tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer‘, that presumably puts the story somewhere between Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in 1935 and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1939, his classic trilogy years.

In major news for fans of the cinematic icon, Lucasfilm Games announced today that a new Indiana Jones game will be swinging our way, being developed by the award-winning studio, MachineGames, and executive produced by game industry icon Todd Howard of Bethesda Games Studios. The game will tell a wholly original, standalone tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer.

Time will tell, and no more news than this for now but exciting news that the day after Lucasfilm Games relaunches it’s Indy rather than Star Wars that gets the limelight in the 50th anniversary year of Lucasfilm.
