While her animated incarnation was a serious, headstrong teen who gave Anakin Skywalker focus during the Clone Wars, she also had a distinct sense of playful humour, but – understandably – the older Ahsoka Tano has shown little of that light-hearted side in her live action incarnation in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka Season 1 (and even in Star Wars Rebels), but speaking with The Direct, Rosario Dawson made clear that in much the same way Gandalf the Grey gave way to Gandalf the White, so the current, more serious incarnation of Ahsoka is relaxing to become a different version of herself.
“She had a more of a strong gravitas at the beginning [as a Jedi apprentice], and she was a little bit more unflappable and I’m liking that she’s relaxing. She’s kind of getting back into her joy. I think those moments with Hayden [Christensen] and Anakin were so important for her to heal something, so she could be more present.”
“And that’s what I’m really enjoying. I think we get to explore that a lot more in the second season. I’m really glad that we get to add more joy into her life and see her relax a little bit more and work in community a little bit more than she has.”
We’ll all find out together when season 2 of Ahsoka debuts on Disney Plus on 20th January 2027.
