It could turn out to be an even more pivotal scene than it is already, the conversation between Anakin and Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith which initially appeared to simply be the seduction of Anakin (‘simply’, it’s one of the most vital elements of the entire saga) and Sheev explaining how he defeated his own master, but with The Rise of Skywalker appearing to bring Palpatine back could hold even more gold in them thar hills.

Abrams named The Revenge of the Sith seduction scene where Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) lures Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) to the dark side of the Force with the tale of Darth Plagueis.

“There’s just something about that scene,” Abrams says. “There’s just two people sitting there. It’s visually interesting. But I just think Ian’s performance in it is spectacular.”

Abrams also gave details on the length o the film, 141 minutes, making it the second longest Star Wars film after The Last Jedi which weighed in at 152 minutes.
