With his character of former First Order Trooper FN-2187 the loyal friend (a’la Han Solo) and the focus of the trilogy narrative seeing Rey pitted against Kylo Ren (a’la Luke and Vader), John Boyega – speaking at last weekends Fan Expo Boston – has revealed where he believed the plot of the trilogy was taking Finn, and it’s markedly different to what did happen in the $4.4bn grossing saga-ending trilogy.

“I think I assumed he was Force-sensitive from The Force Awakens script or at least by the time I got to the end of The Force Awakens script. I thought they were planning dual Jedis. I actually thought that they would Obi-Wan and Darth Vader us a bit. That we would turn against each other or something along those lines.”

It’s worth noting that episodes 7 and 9 did hint at some level of Force sensitivity, while episode 8 abandoned that entirely, but with more adventures in the era pending with Starfighter and the New Jedi Order trilogy, could we see a Boyega return and if so, will be be Force-fuelled himself?
