Coming up on Making Tracks and Fantha Tracks TV very soon is our chat with Mark Von Ohlen at the Denuo Novo booth from New York Comic Con 2023, but to tide you over is the latest edition of The Lore, which looks at some of the iconic X-Wing helmets and the stories behind them.

The Star Wars™ X-wingâ„¢ Helmet is one of the most recognizable helmet in all of space fantasy. From its build to its unique paint for each individual character, we have been infatuated with this prop’s ongoing story. From Luke Skywalker to General Merrick to Rey, we’ve seen X-wing helmets across the Star Wars saga.

Each helmet has a unique paint job and color palette. Believe it or not, the weathering patterns are very distinct to the prop-making era in which the helmet was made, from the deep browns/grays of the ’70s to the lighter patterns of the 2000s. Every helmet is its own challenge, and we strive to step up to it in replicating the art each time.

We are proud to stock several X-wing helmets in the Denuo Novo collection. Each one is character-specific and features a design unique to its wearer. Each helmet’s design tells the story of a heroic pilot who took on the cause of the Rebel Alliance.

Antoc Merrick commands Yavin 4’s starfighters before the Battle of the Death Star, flying as Blue Leader. He joined the Rebellion from the Rarefied Air Cavalry of Virujansi, where he served alongside his friend Garven Dreis, later Red Leader. Merrick knows unit cohesion and cooperation are vital for the Starfighter Corps, and cares deeply for the pilots under his command.
