Incredible numbers were posted at the recent Hake’s Auction as a mega rare Brazillian Glasslite Vlix with an AFA 80 grading reached a superb $44,261. Featured in the 1985 animated series Star Wars: Droids, Kenner produced a line of action figures and vehicles, but after the second season didn’t happen, prototype molds designed for the canceled second season ended up in Brazil. Glasslite (pronounced Glass-leet), who held the rights to distribute Droids figures in the country, produced a limited number of figures including Vlix and released them commercially. However, by the late 80s most of the figures were unsold or shredded with the plastic reused to produce other toys, and that unique history makes a carded original Vlix quite the catch.
