Following a long illness, Kenner and Hasbro legend Mark Boudreaux has passed away. For those in the know, his work and accomplishments as a Product Designer are legendary but for those who don’t, Mark was the creative genius behind numerous Star Wars toys including arguably the most beloved toy ever created, the Millennium Falcon.
Hasbro remembered his contribution to the Star Wars galaxy.
Collector and expert Ringo Davil (if you know who they are, you know who they are) had this to say on Mark’s passing.
“Mark Boudreaux, for those who never had the pleasure to meet him, was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. I always enjoyed our conversations. The last time I hung out with Mark, he was already sick with COVID, so what was meant to be a sit down meal turned into catching up in a parking lot wearing masks. It was cold that night, and despite being under the weather, Mark was in no hurry to call it a night. While we did share a few texts after that night, it was only days until he would be in the first hospital. I reached out through his wife Judy many times, but I never had a chance to speak to my friend again so I’ve missed him for a long time already. Thank you for your passion Mark. You live on in the hearts of us all.”
The memories Marks work helped generate simply can’t be counted, so in his honour grab that vintage Falcon, pull down the front handle and fly it around the room, and to all of his many friends, colleagues and family, our sincerest condolences from the team here at Fantha Tracks.
