Interesting news comes via DIS and Orlando Weekly, which looks into the news that there will be a 30th anniversary logo for Disney Hollywood Studios. Perhaps not the most surprising news, but married with the fact that Disney were asking park visitors to list their favorite alternate names for that area of Disney,  it would appear that Hollywood Studios will remain the name of that area going forward.

Orlando Weekly looked at the news.

What the anniversary logo does tell is that Disney isn’t looking to change the name of Hollywood Studios ahead of the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land opening in late fall next year. Leaked surveys showed that Disney was researching the possibility of changing the name of Hollywood Studios; guests were asked to rate multiple potential names for the park, including Disney Beyond Park, Disney Cinemagic Park, Disney Cinemagine Park, Disney Hyperia Park, Disney Kaleidoscope Park, Disney Legends Park, Disney Storyverse Park and Disney XL Park.

And DIS delved further.

Disney has announced that they will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios throughout 2019 starting with the revealing of a new park logo in January 2019.

The two Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attractions got names at Destination D. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will debut when the land opens in fall 2019. An interesting difference from previous reveals is that Disney stated just “fall 2019” for Hollywood Studios rather than stating “late fall 2019.” WDWMagic sources say Rise of the Resistance will include several pre-shows and an extensive queue similar to Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom.

Also revealed is an all new nighttime show which will begin in May 2019 in the Chinese theater. The Wonderful World of Animation will celebrate 90 years of animation starting with Mickey Mouse. Along with that, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open in fall 2019, which has been rumored for months now. WDWMagic sources say an August-September time frame is possible for a reopening date.
