Miniature vehicles with big impact

The original Star Wars trilogy would have been very different had it not been for the talented folk of fledgling organisation Industrial Light and Magic and the miniature vehicles created.

More than 40 years on, and inspired by the original model makers of miniature vehicles featured in A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, a collective of uber fans have proudly created a huge – well, tiny – tribute of their own.

John Simmons Scale Modelling are a small group of die hard Star Wars fans that are truly passionate about re-creating the essence, look and feel of the original filming miniatures created by Industrial Light and Magic in the 70’s and 80’s for the original Star Wars films.

Using different mediums such as styrene, metal, resin and original vintage model kit parts to create near perfect replicas of the studio Scale models, even tracking down the original paint used for the models, you need to come and see with your own eyes!

Fantha Tracks will be checking in on the group and reporting back from MCM Birmingham Comic Con this weekend, where for the first time ever, John Simmons Modelling Group will display their version of Slave I.
