John and Mary Jo Tenuto Talk: A Long Time Ago: Star Wars from 1977-1983

Taking place on Tuesday 17th October live on Zoom from 7:00pm – 8:30pm, authors John and Mary Jo Tenuto will be presenting a virtual event for the McHenry Library (809 Front St., McHenry, IL 60050) where they will discuss the influence the original trilogy had on pop and the wider culture.

The Star Wars films reshaped expectations of what cinema could deliver and sparked the world’s imagination. Step back in time to 1977 with College of Lake County instructors Maria Jose Tenuto and John Tenuto. Together they will explore how the culture reacted to – and was influenced by – the original trilogy of films. Stories, forgotten trivia, rare photographs from fans, a discussion about collectibles, and more will be shared during this look at the world’s newest mythology,
