TK-421 Day, also the 25th anniversary of the 501st Legion, saw the most infamous Stormtrooper who wasn’t at his post finally found, and by the UKG no less. Stephen Bayley was inducted into the 501st Legion as an Honorary Member, and Albin Johnson – the man who started it all – was understandably thrilled, and explained the reasons for the delay.
On TK-421 day on the 25th anniversary of the 501st Legion… we tracked down and inducted Stephen Bayley himself: TK-421! That’s right, he wasn’t at his post but we found him! On the day named after his character!!!
Fun bit of Legion history: in 1998 there was a big misunderstanding with one of the early supporters of the 501st who wanted to join _as_ TK-421. I refused, saying the number was already taken. And rightly so – we can now return it to its proper owner!
I can’t tell you how amazing it has been coordinating this for one of my childhood heroes – for the Stormtroopers in Star Wars were the coolest characters! I mean, actors like Mr. Bayley inspired me to become a Stormtrooper, which in turn built this fine organization. How have we gone 25 years without having TK-421 in our ranks?!
But he’s here now and I am so proud to welcome him as a member of Vader’s Fist.
Thank you all of you who sponsored this amazing custom statuette for Mr. Bayley – TK-421 stands proudly next to R2-KT4 from Spain and alongside the majesty of Pink Force. The letter listing your names was given to him to recognize your love and support. Well done troopers! Legendary!!! Thank you Rob Mason and the UKG for making this happen, and thank you to Legion command and admin staff for coordinating everything. This is a proud day to be a Stormtrooper!
