With a career stretching back over 40 years, Warwick Davis was recognised with an OBE for his services to drama and charity and this morning he headed to Windsor Castle to be awarded the honour by Prince William, yet another accolade in a career littered with huge hits, a BAFTA Fellowship and now one of the countries highest honours.
During the ceremony, William bent down so the pair were at eye level. Speaking after the event, Davis – who was born with a rare form of dwarfism called Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita – said the Prince of Wales’ considerate gesture meant a lot to him. “It was lovely the way he came down to my level instead of standing and looking down at me,” he revealed.
Warwick was accompanied by his children Annabelle, 28, and Harrison, 21, as well as two mystery companions, one of whom is thought to have been his mystery girlfriend, affectionately nicknamed ‘Sponge’.
