On Saturday June 30th, my friend Meridith and I got to experience Star Wars live in concert at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Chicago, IL! It was a thrilling experience seeing A New Hope on the big screen accompanied by a live orchestra. There were times when I forgot I was even listening to live music as it blended seamlessly with the movie projected above the orchestra. There was a 15 minute intermission to give the orchestra a well-deserved break and it didn’t hinder the performance at all, in fact it was the perfect time for a break: the Millennium Falcon was being pulled into the Death Star as the screen faded to black. It was just as exciting as seeing it in a movie theatre! I know there are many fans that have never seen the original trilogy in the theatre, and this is a fantastic alternative to being able to do that.
The CSO will be playing The Empire Strikes Back in concert November 23-25! Get tickets here:Â Tickets for ESB at the CSO
