After launching her new YouTube channel on 2nd July, Brie Larson already had 168,000 subscribers, showing the power of being an Oscar winner and a main event Marvel superhero. During her introductory video she made some interesting comments regarding roles she missed out on which include The Terminator, The Hunger Games and Star Wars.
The actor, who joined the ever-expanding MCU as Carol Danvers back in 2019, launched her new YouTube channel yesterday (July 2), and chatted about her love of the space opera franchise and a bunch of her past auditions with a friend in her first video.
“I auditioned for Star Wars too,” the 30-year-old admitted. “I auditioned for Hunger Games, I auditioned for the Terminator reboot.
“I actually was thinking about the Terminator reboot today because I got a flat tyre and I was like, ‘Oh the last time I got a flat tyre was when I was driving into my audition for Terminator,” she laughed. “Got a flat tyre at the audition, and then didn’t get the job.”
While Larson refrained from detailing which specific parts she tried to bag, fans have speculated that, with Star Wars, it was either Rey (who went on to be played by Daisy Ridley when she was introduced in The Force Awakens) or Rogue One protagonist Jyn Erso (who was brought to life by The Theory of Everything star Felicity Jones).
So was it Rey, or Jyn? Either way, the GFFA would be lucky to have her, so perhaps there are future roles for her to inhabit. In the meantime, maybe she’ll be working with another GFFA mainplayer Deborah Chow, who is tipped to take the reins on Captain Marvel 2 once she has finished her Kenobi duties.
