It was the talk of the fandom a few months ago, the news that Adam Driver and director Steven Soderbergh had been working on a movie project to bring back the son of Leia Organa and Han Solo after his noble redemption at the end of The Rise of Skywalker, a project that ultimately was rejected by former CEO Bob Iger and Disney Entertainment co-Chairman Alan Bergman. With D23 in full swing and more news sure to land before the show ends, Deadline asked the co-President and CCO of Lucasfilm the big question – will we ever see the film?
There’s always the theme of hope in the Star Wars franchise, and with the brand landing its lowest grossing live-action feature in the franchise with The Mandalorian and Grogu ($345M WW), fans still wanna know: is there any shot in the galaxy that Disney/Lucasfilm would re-consider an Adam Driver-led The Hunt for Ben Solo project?
Deadine caught up with Lucasfilm co-President and Mandalorian and Grogu co-writer and producer Dave Filoni at D23 and asked whether Kylo Ren would ever make a comeback.
“It’s not here, you won’t find it here,” said Filoni, “The force is not with us in that regard; I love the love you feel for it.”
