ESPN’s Chris Connelly has interviewed MMA fighter turned actress Gina Carano about finding a new beginning with acting.  Carano is one of the leads (Cara Dune) in the new Disney Plus TV series, The Mandalorian.

When Gina Carano left the world of MMA after her last Strikeforce fight in 2009, she hoped to put some of the skills she’d spent a decade honing to new use as an actress. Now, ten years later, she’s playing a key role in the first-ever live-action Star Wars series, “The Mandalorian” — coming to the new streaming service Disney+ on Tuesday, November 12.

If you remember Boba Fett from the Star Wars movies, you know what a Mandalorian is. And if you remember Gina Carano’s MMA career, you know what she did to make mixed martial arts a place where women could thrive.

The video is region locked to the USA, so some readers may be unable to access the video.
