As the Writers Guild of America strike continues, Harrison Ford and award-winning writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge made very clear their support on the red carpet of the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny premiere this past Monday, with Ford making clear that is the Screen Actors Guild vote to strike, he’ll follow suit. SAG-AFTRA have been in contract talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers since 7th June, with the current contract expiring today, 30th June. In early June a SAG-AFTRA members vote saw 98% of its members prepared to authorise a strike.

What effect this will have on imminent and long-term film and TV productions is unknown, but coming so soon after the destabilising COVID-19 pandemic it seems almost certain that the entertainment industry is about to enter another period of uncertainty.
