Jon Favreau continues the tradition of teases

Jon Favreau has posted more images on his official instagram account which shows that he is cut from the same cloth as other such teasing directors such as J.J. Abrams and Ron Howard. This image of The Mandalorian was unexpected and caused a lot of excitement online due to the popularity of the costumes initially worn by Boba Fett in the original trilogy.

However, most people are aware that Boba first appeared on our screens in the often maligned Star Wars Holiday Special and it seems that Jon does too when this image was posted.

In the holiday special there is a 9 minute cartoon which shows Boba wielding a pronged device which fires an energy beam to incapacitate the poor victim whether that be a Rebel, Imperial or a … dinosaur?!  It is unclear at present if this is an actual prop that we will see in the show or if Jon is playing with the fans but either way it is super cool to see.

If you haven’t watched the cartoon then click on the link above but don’t believe everything you’ve heard about it. The cartoon is indeed the best part of the holiday special but it is still terrible!

This second image may not be instantly recognisable to most fans but it is often referred to as the ice cream maker carried by Willrow Hood, aka the Ice Cream Man, during the evacuation of Cloud City in The Empire Strikes Back.

You may have seen legions of fans wearing orange boiler suits carrying these devices and wearing Super Mario style moustaches at Star Wars Celebration or other events.  This is a tradition known as the running of the Willrow Hoods.

All things are pointing towards a very exciting TV show, made for fans by fans and we at Fantha Tracks can’t wait to see more teasers in the near future.  We have really high hopes for this and are fully supportive off all we’ve seen so far.
