We posted our own piece about the status of Kenobi back in May and now The Belfast Telegraph roll out their own info in the most delightfully matter-of-fact way it would seem almost uncharitable to not believe them.

As Sunday Life exclusively revealed in February, Star Wars creator George Lucas visited Northern Ireland before Christmas to seal the deal for the new standalone film.enobi

The movie will centre on the life of Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi, with Ewan McGregor reprising the role he first played in 1999’s Star Wars prequel The Phantom Menace.

The new projects will secure hundreds of jobs in the TV and film industry well into 2020.

We’re not so confident about Lucas being involved in the project but let’s hope this project gets off the ground sooner rather than later as practically every facet of Star Wars fandom has some kind of interest in the negotiator.
