While the nine films will most likely always be known to fans as the original, prequel and sequel trilogies, that doesn’t allow room for the standalone and Disney Plus shows, so in a decision following the recent Marvel Age of limited series, the official Star Wars timeline is now broken into three distinct eras.

First we have the Age of Republic, which right now begins with The Phantom Menace and ends with Solo: A Star Wars Story. The Age of Rebellion era begins with Star Wars Rebels and ends with The Mandalorian and the Age of Resistance with begins with Star Wars Resistance and ends with The Rise of Skywalker. Interestingly, Galaxy’s Edge is included in the official timeline, cementing its place in the canon even further.
