With its international numbers yet to be posted, the re-release to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi has brought in an impressive $7,259,924 in North America. That now means that Episode VI has brought in $316,566,101 in the US and $122,009,457 internationally for a global worldwide total of $475,106,177.

That may not seem like much in 2023, but factor in inflation adjustments and it’s budget of $32,500,000 (which for a film of its scale today would be far north of $200 million) and you have nothing but a huge smash.

Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi
(2023 Re-release)
After rescuing Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt, the Rebels attempt to destroy the second Death Star, while Luke struggles to help Darth Vader back from the dark side.

We discuss this and much more on this weeks episode of Making Tracks.
