Obi-Wan Fan-Casting

  • Commander Cody: You know that Obi-Wan’s former second in command would have to make an appearance in the new TV show. It is only 10 years since Revenge of the Sith happened while Boba Fett wasn’t until after Return of the Jedi, years later. Therefore, his appearance wouldn’t be the same as the current visage and body type of Temuera Morrison. However, his look-and-sound-alikes are available here, on US television. Junior from Hawaii Five-Oh, played by Beulah Koale, another New Zealand actor, would be perfect as young Commander Cody.

Another possibility is from another American TV show, NCIS Hawaii. This time, it’s another New Zealand actor Alex Tarrant.

Boba Fett/Mandalorian Fan-Casting

  • Jodo Kast: This guy was a Boba Fett impersonator back in the Dark Horse days. He wore Mandalorian armor (although in a different color scheme to tell them apart) and piloted a ratty-looking old Imperial shuttle (which would look great on-screen). He’s from the classic Twin Engines of Destruction – which would also make a great chapter title. In the comic, Kast had nothing to do with clones or anything from his past, he was just a guy going around using Fett’s name to get jobs and relying on his reputation as a bad-ass bounty hunter.
  • I say we go the same route for the show and use a different actor than Temuera Morrison (or any of his younger look-alikes). When Kast was unmasked by Fett at the end, he kinda looked like Jensen Ackles (Supernatural). Hearing his voice through a mask filter would sound pretty cool and you know he can pull off the action scenes.

The New Vanity Fair Cover Story

  • Obi-Wan with Ashoka and the Mandalorian? So cool it became my phone’s wallpaper. Plus, we’re starting to see clips from Kenobi.

This Old High Republic Song

    • Yes, it’s over a year old but I re-discovered it. Written by the brilliant Daniel Jose Older, he posted a pic on Twitter with him a dog, laptop and chunky-looking synthesizer followed by the lyrics. Then, the fans chimed in with their interpretations of this really creep High Republic song about turning to dust.

Even Older Point….

  • I recently found out that the Clones had Jedi impersonators in the siege against the Jedi Temple during Order 66. Decoy Squad Five had specifically trained clones to impersonate Jedi. They had quick reflexes with Jedi robes and blasters, probably even moved like Jedi. They were there to ambush any Jedi who came to the Temple from the outside to help the Jedi. They dressed like Jedi but still had the same face and accent as ordinary troopers. Not sure if they would fool anybody but I had no idea this deleted scene from Episode III actually existed. I love this idea and find it really interesting. Wonder if any of them are still around (canon-wise)?
