BEWARE SPOILERS: Just like with the previous Disney Plus series, we at Fantha Tracks will be offering our own episode guide for your entertainment! Here we will post every reference, Easter egg, everything named and unnamed per episode and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted.
Official summary: On a mysterious planet, the tragic journey of two sisters begins.
Trivia
Mae and Osha find each other underneath the Bunta tree, the source of the poison from the previous episode.
Mother Koril is the first time we see a female Zabrak in live-action. She is by far not the first time we had a female Zabrak, but the most prominent ones would be Maris Brood in The Force Unleashed and the bounty hunter Sugi in The Clone Wars.
“All living things are connected by the same thread” is, as Mother Aniseya tells herself, just another way to look at the Force. This is shared by many other groups seen throughout the years like the witches of Dathomir and the Fallanassi.
On Mother Aniseya’s forehead is a spiral symbol, which is one of the oldest and most common symbols. The spiral represents evolution and growth of the spirit.
Among witches seen is a Twi’lek, an unknown blue alien, an unknown alien with stubs on her head and a woman with blue paint just around the eyes. The latter brings to mind a dark Jedi named Tavion Axmis from Jedi Outcast.
Many connections or similarities to the Dathomir witches can be noticed: the use of Mother, the matriarchy society and the bow weapons.
It turns out that their full names are Mae-ho Aniseya and Verosha Aniseya.
Some of the witches are named in the end credits:
Ensign Rane, played by Amy Tsang, seen during the ceremony.
Scout Sarria, played by Saskia Allen, the guard who warns them of the Jedi during the ceremony.
Ensign Eurus, played by Abigail Thorn, seen during the ceremony. Eurus is a Greek name meaning God of the east wind. Another well known Eurus was the forgotten sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes in Sherlock.
Ensign Shima, played by Deborah Rosan, seen during the ceremony.
Elder Jaalyn, played by Tabitha Alege, appears to be the one preparing Osha for the ceremony.
The creation of the twins brings questions that are thus far unanswered. Of course we know that Anakin had no father either and it is speculated that someone (Darth Sidious perhaps) was influencing the midi-chlorians to create life.
The Jedi ship is also an unknown, but the interior is similar to Ahsoka’s shuttle with the round central area.
Unlike in The Bad Batch, where Ventress made up fake tests to determine Omega’s Force sensitivity, we see here the standard tests as established in The Phantom Menace: the blood test and the guess the image from the screen test.
In The Phantom Menace the order of images to guess was a ship, a cup and a speeder. Here it is tooka cat and something that we are not even sure about, but is probably some kind of space station. It is for sure not a mountain anyway.
And just like young Anakin leaving, Mae also realizes she will never see her mother again, and asks for that confirmation.
Osha’s first drawing is a flower of some kind that shares similarities with the Jedi Order symbol.
