It might seem crazy to even consider the fact that The Force Awakens – the first episode in a trilogy we not only waited 32 years for, but many thought we’d never get – landed in cinemas a decade ago, and to honour the work of the Pinewood Creature Shop led by Neal Scanlan and the concept design team of Jake Lunt Davies, Martin Rezard, Luke Fisher and Ivan Manzella as well as the contributions designed by the US team led by Doug Chiang and the wizards at ILM, take a closer look at this display of the tangible effects of Episode VII. You’ll find the iconic lightsaber of Luke Skywalker designed by Roger Christian for the 1977 original, the Thom Tenery designed Upsilon Shuttle used by Kylo Ren, aged versions of Nilo Rodis-Jamero and Phil Tippetts design for Admiral Ackbar, Dave Carson’s design for Nien Numb, and more.
