Official summary: The people of Nevarro need protection from rampant pirate attacks.

Trivia

The ship of Pirate King Gorian Shard is first identified as a Corsair ship, with later in the episode Bo-Katan fully identifying the ship as a Cumulus-Class Corsair. This is derived from the Latin cumulus, meaning “heap” or “pile”. The most well-known usage is that of the cumulus cloud.

The “He Shot First”-debate is an obvious echo to Han versus Greedo and the fan debate about who shot first.

While he was referred to as a Pirate King before, this is the first time that a Pirate Nation is mentioned as well.

Right before the pirates start firing you see a Mon Calamari talking to a smaller Mon Calamari. Is this an that is adult smaller in stature, or the first child Mon Cala seen in live-action?

Just like a certain ice cream maker carrying evacuee from The Empire Strikes Back, we now see a woman evacuating with only a blanket. Maybe this woman has read The Hitchhikers’ Guide To The Galaxy in which the towel is described as the most massively useful thing to have with you.

Talking about Willrow Hood, a bit later, at the edge of the city, you do see other people carrying their camtono.

It turns out that Captain Teva is part of Spinward Patrol, a New Republic patrol group based on Adelphi. Adelphi was mentioned before in Chapter 10, but besides that mention it was only really seen and used in the novel Shadow of the Sith until this episode.

Adelphi Base shows many familiar things like X-wings, Y-wings, personnel carriers like seen on Yavin Four and Echo Base and pilots in blue jumpsuits. They appear to be a bit darker blue then the U-wing pilot outfits from Rogue One.

Above the bar you can see helmets of Stormtroopers, Scout Troopers, TIE pilots, as well as the droids heads of a RA-7 and a Probe Droid.

The bartender is a Snivvian and was played by Misty Rosas.

Sitting at the bar we can spot Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow and Rick Famuyiwa reprising their cameos from Chapter 6 as Trapper Wolf, Sash Ketter and Jib Dodger.

This is the first time we see a Lasat in live-action. And not just any Lasat, the end credits reveal it to be Zeb from Rebels! Zeb was once again played by Steve Blum and can be heard quoting Han Solo’s line from Return Of The Jedi when he tells Lando: Good Luck, you’re gonna need it.

Cololnel Tuttle is played by Tim Meadows and his costume is a callback to the military personnel seen in Return Of The Jedi.

Earlier we mentioned that the memory of R5-D4 having been erased and how he only vaguely remembers his time working for the Rebellion. This episode expands yet again on that with him working together with Teva.

When Teva gets back into the X-wing, you once again hear the Resistance theme, but slowed down and for just a few notes so it is less obvious.

Din likes the odds, unlike Han who never wanted to be told about them.

The monkey lizard pointing to help the Mandalorians uses the same sound effect of Salacious Crumb in Return Of The Jedi when he gets zapped by Artoo’s electric prod.

Our favorite curse is back: Dank farrik! This time spoken by Gorian Shard.

In a puffer pig’s eye!“ says Shard. The puffer pig was introduced in the first Lando episode of Rebels, Idiot’s Array.

When celebrating their victory, among the citizens of Nevarro you can spot a Melitto. This is the same species as Sarco Plank from The Force Awakens.

Greef Karga gives the land from the western lava flats to Bulloch Canyon to the Mandalorians. This is a lovely tribute to the man who portrayed the first onscreen Mandalorian Boba Fett, Jeremy Bulloch.

Lt. Reed is the X-wing pilot that flew with Teva and stopped Din Djarin in his N-1 above Tatooine in The Book Of Boba Fett. He is played by Max Lloyd Jones, who also doubled for Mark Hamill as Luke in the series.
