The Rebellion is back as Rogue One readies for a return to 150 select U.S. IMAX theaters starting Aug. 26, including an exclusive look at the new Disney Plus series Andor before its Sept. 21 initial release date for the first three episodes.
A flammable, tense, and gritty Andor trailer serves as a reminder that characters other than Cassian Andor, from the Rogue One 2016 film release, will make appearances. We know Mon Mothma, Saw Gerrera, and his right-hand Tognath, Benthic Two Tubes, will play roles in the prequel series, but could there be other surprise cameos in store?

The presence of Saw and Benthic means there is at least a possibility that two powerful women characters could show up as well. Perhaps a 16-year-old Jyn Erso, who has recently been abandoned by Saw after spending eight years as one of the best soldiers among his Partisans? Or another character with ties to the extremist leader through the novelization of Solo: A Star Wars Story—Enfys Nest?
The four-page epilogue of the Solo book, written by Mur Lafferty, informs readers that Enfys took the refined coaxium from Savareen to Gerrera to use for the cause against the Galactic Empire. At the time, Benthic was a Cloud Rider with Enfys, but we learn he and his brother Edrio eventually serve Saw on Jedha in Rogue One. Trailer footage for Andor shows Benthic in his typical high ground (insert Obi-Wan Kenobi joke here) spotter/sniper position above the X-Wings of the Cavern Angels, meaning he has likely joined the Partisans already.
The exchange in the book between Saw and Enfys moved from tense to appreciative as it was revealed he did not come alone as requested. But then, as 11-year-old Jyn exits the shuttle, Enfys starts to let her guard down. She sees some of herself in the young lady—and is even inspired to remove her mask to show that she too is a younger female in a military-style leadership role.
“Why would you bring your young ward to a dangerous meeting?” Enfys asked.
Saw responded with, “She needs to learn if she’s going to survive…”
Jyn would survive approximately 10 more years before the heroic ending for her and Andor on the beaches of Scarif—but the timelines align for Jyn Erso to be making it on her own in the galaxy near the beginning of the new Disney Plus series, and just maybe the mysterious Enfys Nest, if she is still alive, has future dealings to support Saw and his vicious attacks against the Empire in the name of the burgeoning Rebellion.
