‘Winkie. Winkie Skywalker’: How Rey could have been known by a different name

Ok, so that headline might be a bit of a stretch, but in another galaxy, another time there exists a George Lucas version of episode 7, and driving that story was a 14 year old girl called, at various times Thea, Taryn and Winkie.

As explained here, the name changed a number of times to Kira, Echo and finally Rey, and while Winkie might sound slightly left-of-center for a name, just remember Luke’s Tatooine nickname was Wormie.
