Could a Knights of the Old Republic series be heading to Disney Plus?

It could be nothing, or it could be something, but ‘industry insider’ Daniel Richtman recently claimed on his paywall hidden Patreon page that ‘Lucasfilms developing a show set during Knight of the Old Republic era‘. Nothing more than that, and while Kathleen Kennedy herself mentioned KOTOR back in 2019, saying that ‘something’ was happening (film? TV? More games? We never did find out) it’s been relatively quiet ever since.

Now, it looks like a show set in The Old Republic period is happening after all. Reliable industry insider Daniel Richtman is now claiming that an Old Republic show is in development at Lucasfilm, presumably heading to Disney Plus.

This comes from Richtman’s breakdown of what he’s heard about Marvel, DC and Star Wars’ upcoming projects. Towards the end of the Patreon post (paywalled), he writes: “Lucasfilms developing a show set during Knight of the Old Republic era.”

Given the wording here, this is unlikely to be a direct adaptation of the KOTOR games, which might come as a relief to some. While there’s always been a “canon” version of Revan, the character can be customised by the player, and we can also have them make different choices. You can even reject your chance at redemption and go full Sith Lord, which you can then carry over into KOTOR 2.

With Celebration Japan only a few short weeks away and the hopes for new reveals high, could KOTOR be one of those? Fantha Tracks are boots on the ground in Japan, so stay tuned as we bring all the news from the showfloor, panels both official and fan drievn and much more here on the site and acrodss our social media feeds, YouTube and podcasts.
