The 1995 original is much-loved and now, Dark Forces is being recreated by dedicated fan Jason Lewis, giving us an HD look at one of the earlier gaming expansions into the Star Wars galaxy.

Den of Geek took a look at the project.

This project is a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. Dark Forces originally released on PC and PlayStation in the mid-1990s, as an instalment in the beloved Jedi Knight series. Although the game was a fan favourite that spawned a sequel, we hadn’t expected to see such a visually gorgeous new version of it any time soon.

This Star Wars: Dark Forces remake comes to us from Obsidian Entertainment’s Jason Lewis, who has been working on the project in his spare time with some other designers. The YouTube video was made by a user named Bluedrake42. The ‘Dark Forces Remastered Demo’ can be downloaded at this link.
