Arriving 8th March from Fantasy Flight Games, Star Wars: Unlimited looks set to dive deep into the galaxy of gaming, and during their most recent livestream they revealed some of the cards able to be used in the game, as well as explaining two more of the game play methods with draft play and sealed play.
Draft Play
Draft play, as explained on the “Star Wars: Unlimited” site is ideal for weekly in-store events where players will sit at a large table and each one will open three booster packs. After removing the leader cards from the three backs, the rest of the cards remain face down in separate stacks. Each player will pick one of their three leader cards to keep, then pass the other two to the player to their right. This continues until each player has one leader who they picked and two that were passed to them. After all of the leaders are selected, each player will chose one of their stacks and place the common base/token card in a pile in the middle of the table. They’ll then pick one card from the stack, then pass it to the left until all of the cards have been passed. This repeats with the second stack, except those are passed to the right, and then the third stack, except those are passed to the left.
After this, everyone will have 45 cards to build their deck. In draft play, a draw deck has to have at least 30 cards. A player can have any number of duplicate cards and can use as many of their leaders as they want. They can use a rare or common base, and can change their deck between every round.
Sealed Play
Sealed play, an option for pre-release events, stars with opening six booster packs. You then make a deck of at least 30 cards using those packs. You can use duplicates and a combination of bases in your deck. You can swap cards in your deck between rounds, just like in draft play.
