Here’s a first look at the forthcoming 235th issue of Star Wars Insider magazine, out Tuesday 9th December in the States and 8th January 2026 in the UK. The issue features my interviews with Andor star Robert Emms who discusses his time as ISB agent turned Rebel Lonni Yung, and a number of the artists present in Japan for Star Wars Celebration earlier this year, plus new and exclusive Star Wars fiction, a decade of The Force Awakens, a look at the music of Andor, Ryan Kiera Armstrong talks Fern and Skeleton Crew and much more besides.

In this issue of Star Wars Insider we’re celebrating the tenth anniversary of Star Wars: The Force Awakens with a fascinating look behind the scenes at Industrial Light & Magic’s work on one of the film’s most impressive visual sequences – the Millennium Falcon’s escape from Jakku. We trace the rise of the First Order and the real-world inspirations director J.J. Abrams had in mind when creating the sequel trilogy’s antagonistic bad guys. Plus, there’s a tasty food portion of exclusive short fiction to enjoy, written by Lucasfilm’s Kristin Baver, starring a young Rey.

We talk to composer Brandon Roberts about his musical score for season two of Andor, and actor Robert Emms reveals his thoughts on playing rebel spy Lonni Jung. Skeleton Crew’s Ryan Kiera Armstrong reflects on her part in the recent Disney+ show, we revisit Star Wars Celebration 2025, and commemorate the launch of the Star Wars Customizable Card Game some 30 years ago.
