Marvel announce new Star Wars multi-part comic series at SDCC

As part of the Star Wars Publishing panel at San Diego Comic Con, Marvel have a announced a new maxi comic series Star Wars: Age Of…

The new multi part series starts with Star Wars: Age of Republic, which will feature eight comics over a four month period from Jodi Houser.  Each month will have one hero, and one villian comic.  Starting with Star Wars: Age of Republic – Darth Maul, and Star Wars: Age of Republic – Qui-Gon.  The series will continue with issues focussed on Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jango Fett, Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku, Padme Amidala and General Grevious.

After Age of Republic, the series will continue as Age of Rebellion by Greg Pak, before wrapping with Age of Resistance by Tom Taylor.  The entire run will last 30 issues.

Also announced was the arc, “Fortress Vader” which will be a seven-issue arc in Charles Soule‘s Darth Vader ongoing comic series.

Lastly, was the announcement of the comic adaptation of Solo: A Star Wars story.  The comic is to be writtern by Robbie Thomson.

Release dates were not given, but we will update you as those details are made available.

Also announced at the publishing panel were new comics from IDW, and novels from Disney Lucasfilm Press, Chronicle and Del Rey.
