The release date for The Star Wars Archives: Episodes I-III: 1999-2005 creeps ever closer as the book nears the end of its journey to publication and author Paul Duncan gives a few more details regarding just what we’ll be seeing inside the actual book itself. The first Archive gave us a peek at the Ewok movies and the Holiday Special, and the second volume will similarly treat us with a look at the Special Editions, a trio of releases that not only marked the 20th anniversary of A New Hope but also the return of the saga to the silver screen, and the final stretch to The Phantom Menace.
Last few things to polish before we announce pre-orders for The #StarWars Archives: Eps I-III: 1999-2005. The first chapter will cover the restoration/Special Editions, then large chapters on The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. No appendices. pic.twitter.com/yUGjidlhZK

Interestingly there’s no mention of either of The Clone Wars series (specifically the original Gendy Tartakovsky Clone Wars series which debuted ahead of Revenge of the Sith), which perhaps leaves the door open for a deep dive into the vast battle of the Clone Wars themselves in a later Taschen release.
If this volume is anything near as fascinating as the first, tomb-sized tome then we’re in for a real Christmas treat. In fact cancel Christmas, we’ll be too busy tucking into this feast.
