The Hub at St. Mary’s is the place to be over the weekend of 20th – 21st September if you’re a fan of the GFFA and live anywhere near Lichfield, Staffordshire.  In support of local charity The Stan Bowley Trust, which raises money to fund Cyberknife treatment – a non-invasive robotic radiosurgery system used to treat both cancerous and non-cancerous tumours – the event will bring costumers, artist Lee Bradley and all manner of alien invaders to the cathedral city.

Stormtroopers and Daleks and other characters from the world of TV and film, including from Star Wars, will be wandering the streets of the Staffordshire city and dropping in at The Hub at St Mary’s during the free Space Invasion Weekend on 20 and 21 September.

Organisers have promised photo opportunities with characters and Doctor Who’s Tardis, as well as the chance to train as a Jedi knight.

There will also be face painting, galaxy-inspired sweet treats and drawing workshops with artist Lee Bradley.

Event organiser Simon Horton said: “May the force be with you all. As Stormtroopers and Daleks invade Lichfield, it’s time to dig out your best sci-fi costume and join in the fun.”

The evening of the 20th September will see London-based, Italian-American stand up comic Mike Capozzola bring his ‘multimedia nerd-comedy show that mocks and celebrates all things Star Wars‘ to The Hub. Tickets are £12.00 and the show starts at 8.00pm.
